VIENNA, GA - Mr. Terry Jefferson Hobbs age 67 passed away early Wednesday morning June 12, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 10:45 a.m. Monday June 17, 2013 at White Water Baptist Church in Oglethorpe, Georgia Rev. Ray Smith and Brother Gene Simmons officiating burial will follow at 12:00 noon. Monday, June 17, 2013 at Andersonville National Cemetery at the Rostrum with full Military Honors. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. before services.
Mr. Hobbs was born March 17, 1946 in Montezuma, Georgia the son of the late Grover Cleveland Hobbs, Jr. and Lillian Inez Taylor Hobbs. He was the owner operator of Terry's Hair Styles for many years, a Veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Marine Corps and a member of Drayton Baptist Church.
Mr. Hobbs is survived by his beloved wife Deborah Louise Law Hobbs of Vienna, Georgia his mother-in-law Rita [Nannie] Law of Vienna, Georgia a daughter and son-in-law Stephanie Hobbs Coker [Andy] of Ideal, Georgia two sons and a daughter-in-law Chad Hobbs of Ideal, Georgia and Eddie Singleton [Evie] of Leesburg, Georgia.; seven sisters and brothers-in-law Shirley Jones of Greenville, SC. Linda Simmons [Gene] of Garden Valley, Marjorie English [Clyde] of Montrose, Georgia Patricia Hartman [Brown] of Oglethorpe, Georgia Susan Tungate [Jim] of Oglethorpe, Georgia Joyce Smith [Ray] of Butler, Georgia and Cheryl Dorsey [Larry] of Oglethorpe, Georgia.; three brothers and sisters-in-lawLarry Hobbs [Ann] of Ducula, Georgia, Bobby Hobbs [Alice] of Andersonville, Georgia Louie Hobbs [Frances] of Reynolds, Georgia sister-in-law Tonya Hobbs. Also surviving are five grandchildren Haley, Madison and Kendall Hobbs of Cleveland, TN. Sidney and Savannah Singleton of Leesburg, Georgia twenty seven nieces and nephews, thirty three great nieces and nephews, four great, great nieces and nephews a number of step nieces and nephews. Mr. Hobbs was preceded in death by a brother Grover Hobbs.
