Glynn Taunton

Visitation will be held from 5 PM – 7 PM, Friday, November 10th at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, GA.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM, Saturday, November 11th at Crowell United Methodist Church in Reynolds. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Ray Smith and Rev. Steve Waldorf will be officiating the service.
Dr. Taunton was born December 12, 1948 in Butler, GA to the late Hilton E. Taunton and Marilyn Bussey Taunton.He was also preceded in death by his son, Timothy Taunton and brother, Dwayne Hilton Taunton.
Dr. Taunton was born and raised in Butler, Georgia. He graduated from Middle Georgia College in Cochran, with an Associate of Science degree in pre-medicine. Dr. Taunton received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from the School of Pharmacy at the University of Georgia in Athens Georgia. Dr. Taunton received his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Taunton served his internship and residency at Doctor's Hospital in Tucker, Georgia, before opening practice in Oglethorpe. He was a member of Oglethorpe United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife, Pamela Montgomery Taunton of Montezuma, GA; daughter, Kristen Peaster (Jason) of Warner Robins, GA; two sons, Tracy Taunton of Albany, GA, Jamey Taunton (Joni) of Warner Robins, GA; sister, Amelia Jones (Steve) of Reynolds, GA; step mother, Carolyn Taunton of Butler, GA; mother-in-law, Mary Hancock (George) of Byron, GA; four grandchildren, Addyson Taunton, Peyton Peaster, Mallory Peaster and Spencer Taunton. Many other family and friends also survive.
The family has asked to please omit flowers and make memorial contributions in his name to The Methodist Home for Children and Youth or Crowell United Methodist Church in Reynolds.
