Mr. William Morris (Buddy) Hood Jr. age 79 passed away March 8, 2023, peacefully at his home with loved ones by his side.

Buddy was born May 3 ^RD , 1943 in Montezuma, Georgia of Macon County, a small-town community in South Georgia. He was raised with his siblings, cousins, and many friends. He attended the local schools, and at a young age he enlisted into the United States Navy. He served 25 years in the Navy. After retirement Buddy was a school bus driver and also a butcher at the Navy Commissary.

Buddy was stationed in Lemoore, California where he met his wife, Patsy. They found a house in Hanford and made that their home. Buddy and Pat were married for 41 years and raised a son together.

Buddy loved to golf, fish, play cards, bowl, and any board game as long as he was winning. He and Pat both enjoyed traveling and spending time together with their family. They especially enjoyed traveling to the coast in their motor home.

Buddy is preceded in death by his wife Patsy Hood, both his parents, Morris M. Hood and Lois Mae Massey Hood Beard and stepdad Marvin W. Beard along with 2 Sisters, Barbara Beard & Irma Hood Daniels and 1 Brother Joe Hood.

He is survived by a loving sister Shirley Beard Stubbs, his son Mitchell Todd Hood (Rebecca) and their 4 children, Madison, Mason, Malyson and Maxxson, his 3 stepdaughters Carol Worth (Jack), Melinda Jones (Bruce), and Jeanette Elam (& her late husband Jack). Along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also is survived by numerous nieces & nephews and cousins back in Georgia.

Buddy was loved by all that met him. He had many friends, a contagious laugh, and a generous heart. He was always a Southern Gentleman. He will forever be missed.

Services will be held on March 24, 2023, at Lakeside Community Church, 16942 10th Ave Hanford, CA. Viewing will begin at 10am and Funeral Service will start at 11am. Burial with military honors will follow at Hanford Cemetery, 1050 10 ^th Ave, Hanford, CA.
