A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Bertha Dozier Memorial Park, Walnut Street, Montezuma, Georgia. Mike Truitt with Phoebe Sumter Hospice will officiate.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to service at cemetery beginning at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Suite A, Macon, Georgia 31201 or to the Friends of Perry Animal Shelter, 204 Kellwood Drive, Perry, Georgia 31069.
He was born in Montezuma, Georgia to the late James W. (J.W.) Middlebrooks and Lillie Margaret Raper Middlebrooks. Willie proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He spent many years working in the mobile home construction industry for Redmond Industries. He was also employed by Asplundh Tree Expert Company, cutting trees under power lines. Willie was a member of Cedar Valley Baptist Church in Montezuma. When possible, he attended the Way Church in Perry. He was a member of the V.F.W. post in Americus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce Shirah Middlebrooks, his sister, Doris Beavers, and his brother, Jimmie Middlebrooks.
Left to cherish the memories they made with Willie are his siblings, Lillian Gresham of Byromville, Barbara Davis(Edwin) of Perry, Gail Singleton (Leroy) of Perry, Danny Middlebrooks (Elaine) of Perry, and Larry Middlebrooks (Rebecca) of Montezuma and many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great nieces and great-great nephews; and nursing staff and friends at Miona Nursing Center in Ideal, Georgia.
