SSgt. William "Bill" Parisian, age 80 of Montezuma, GA passed away Wednesday night, December 15, 2010 at Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, GA.
Visitation and viewing was from 4 - 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19 in the Chapel of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home. A rosary was recited at 6 p.m.
A funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 20 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Montezuma with military honors following the service. Cremation will take place after the services.
Bill was born on Nov. 5, 1930 in Coldwater, Michigan to the late William Parisian and Florence Bailey Parisian.
Bill was an Army veteran, serving two years in combat during the Korean Conflict and ten years in the reserve. He owned and operated a gas station, worked for Weyerhaeuser for many years and was a business partner with Mr. Allen Head in Montezuma. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Montezuma and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Miriam Parisian of Montezuma, GA; daughter, Catherine (Carlos) Rodriguez of Nellis Fords, VA; two sons, James (Suzane) Parisian of Phoenix, AZ, Mark Parisian of Dunnellon, FL; two step daughters, Barbara Martin of Sweden, Michelle Martin of Phillipines; step son, Rogelio Martin, Jr. of Phillipines; three grandchildren; eight brothers and sisters, Bob Parisian of Florida, Catherine Parisian of Florida, John Parisian of Florida,Tom Parisian of Ohio, Joe Parisian of Florida, Victor Parisian of Texas, Rose Anne Parisian of Italy, Greg Parisian of Ohio; many nieces and nephews also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars.
