MONTEZUMA, GA - Watt Paul Brown, Jr., age 81, of Montezuma, GA, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center in Americus, GA. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, November 14, 2014 in the Chapel of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, GA with Minister Keith Wishum officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service. Burial services at Felton Cemetery will be private.
Mr. Brown was born March 18, 1933 in Plains, GA, to the late Watt Paul Brown, Sr. and Susie Greer Brown. He was the retired owner of B & L Farm Supply and was later associated with Doctor's Pharmacy in Oglethorpe. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by two brothers, John Marvin Brown and William L. Brown, and a sister, Katherine Sue Coogle. He was a member of Williams Road Church of Christ in Americus, GA.
Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Benita Brown of Montezuma, GA; children: Gwen and Howard Rumph of Montezuma, GA, Tod and Olivia Handley of Roopville, GA, and Stacey Hadden of Ellijay, GA; three sisters-in-law: Debra Brown of Montezuma, GA, Mittie Gregory and Marilyn Goodin, both of Americus, GA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Cherrie Arthur of Americus, GA. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Jack Rumph and his wife, Ginger, Molly Rumph, Anna Handley, Nathan Handley, Alex Hadden, Mason Hadden, and Kailyn Hadden; and two great-grandchildren: Lily Rumph and Violet Rumph.
