Mr. Payne was born September 29, 1936 in Rochelle, GA, to the late Clinton Talmadge Payne and Lucy Luvelle Hancock Payne. He was self-employed as a carpenter. Mr. Payne was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Ruth Poole Payne.
Mr. Payne is survived by two daughters: June (Homer) Johnson of Warner Robins, GA, and Johnnie Ruth Brannen of Montezuma, GA; and two brothers: Charles Robert Payne and Delma (Ella) Payne, all of Vienna, GA. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Justin Wilson Greer of Montezuma, GA, Walter Alton (Tamara) Ray of Montezuma, Ga, Johnathan (Terri) O'Bark of Axon, GA, Marcus (Kayla) Brannen of Jackson, GA, Samantha Brannen, Jennifer Respert, Tracie Respert, and Jason (Noelle) Respert, all of Warner Robins, GA; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
