Visitation will be from 5 PM to 7 PM Friday March 29th at Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna, Ga. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 30th at Hurt Road Baptist Church in Smyrna with Rev. Mike Parker officiating. A graveside service will follow in the Pine Level Methodist Church Cemetery in Oglethorpe, GA at 5:30 PM.
Mr. Rodgers had been employed by Wachovia as a Teller Operations Supervisor for over 40 years before retiring in 2000 . He was in the Army Reserves and was a member of Hurt Road Baptist Church for 5 years. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tim Rodgers.
Surviving are: Wife - Shelvey Rodgers of Smyrna, Son & Daughter-in-law - Greg & Tammy Rodgers of Cedartown, Brother - Ben Rodgers of Sylvester, GA, Sister - Joyce Wynn of Suwanee, 3 Grandchildren - Zachary & Maria Rodgers of Cartersville, Garrett Rodgers of Cedartown, 4 Nieces - Michelle, Tonya, Lori & Lisa, 1 Nephew - Stacey. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1101 Northcase Pkwy., Southeast #1, Marietta, GA 30067 or Hurt Road Baptist Church, 17 Hurt Rd., Smyrna, GA 30082.
