OGLETHORPE, GA - Virginia Kelley Stafford, age 84 of Oglethorpe, GA passed away Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, GA.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday, June 29 at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, June 30 at Oglethorpe Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Givens and Rev. Myke Harbuck officiating. Burial will follow in Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

A life-long resident of Macon County, GA, she was born on Nov. 21, 1925 to the late Herbert Kelley and Loy Barfield Kelley. She became the wife of Charlie "Chuck" Stafford in June 1942.

She is survived by her two sons, Charles (Chuck) Stafford and his wife Carolyn of Cairo, GA and Ken Stafford and his wife Paula of Tallahassee, FL; 6 grandchildren, Jamie (Kerry) Stafford, Kelley (Mark) Stafford Helquist, Clair (John) Anicito, Chuck Stafford, John Stafford and Elizabeth Stafford; 3 great grandchildren, Tanner, Riley & Brody Stafford; sister-in-law, Jinevelyn S. Poole of Ideal, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie "Chuck" Stafford and sister, Lagetys Hogg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Oglethorpe Baptist Church, P.O. Box 267, Oglethorpe, GA 31068.
