Tonya Faye Brown

AMERICUS, GA - Tonya Faye Brown “Big Sis”, age 52, of Americus, Ga. passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023.

A funeral service will be held at 6 PM on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, Ga. Visitation will be at 5 PM at the funeral home. Pastors Josh Moncrief, Johnny Cromer and First Lady Carolyn Fowler will be officiating the service. Burial will follow in the family plot at Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Tonya was born on April 4, 1971, in Montezuma, GA to the late Brenda Fay Brown and Jewel Lee “Buddy” Brown. She was a graduate of Macon County High School. She worked at Wendy’s in Americus, GA and attended Breezeway. She loved to worship and was a member of Americus Holiness Deliverance Temple, under the leadership of Pastor Michael Fowler. Tonya was known for loving her Lord and Savior along with her friends, family, and coworkers with all of her heart.

She is preceded in death by her parents, maternal grandparents, J.R. and Hazel Harris, along with her paternal grandparents, Dupont and Eunice Brown.

Tonya is survived by her loving siblings, Tim Brown, Denise O’Neal (Sandy) and Debra Cook (Ron). She is also survived by her one Godchild, Andre “Dre Dre” Smith, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers include Kenny Harris, in honor of Billy Joe; Jay Harris, in honor of Wally; Tim Brown, in honor of Brenda; Kojack Brown, in honor of Sharon; Josh Moncrief (Denise), Zack Cone (Denise), Denise Harris (Melisssa), Dustin Cook (Debra), Ron Cook (Debra), Isiah Brown (Kojack), Man Man Lake (Gwen).
