ANDERSONVILLE, GA - Thelma Barker Williams, age 86, of 710 Englishville Road, Andersonville, GA, passed away Saturday afternoon, June 2, 2012 at her residence with her family by her side.
Visitation will be from 6 PM to 8 PM, Monday, June 4, at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, June 5 in the Chapel of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home. Bishop Edward Gowen, Elder Will Lewis and Rev. Ralph Price will officiate the services. Burial will follow in Cedar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery in Montezuma.
Mrs. Williams was born on April 5, 1926 in Byromville, GA to the late McArthur Barker and Lillie Lamberth Barker. She worked at Manhattan Shirt Factory as a seamstress, before she retired. She was amember of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day-Saints. Her hobbies included sewing, traveling andworking puzzle books.
She is survived by her two daughters, Patsy Giles of Fort Valley, GA and Phylis Shirah of Montezuma, GA; three sons, Willie Henry Jordan of Andersonville, GA, Gary Dale Jordan of Leesburg, GA and Major "Joe" Jordan and his wife Becky of Lizella, GA; two sisters, Juanita Hall of Jacksonville, FL and Joyce Bickley of Marietta, GA; one brother, Roy Barker and his wife Linda of Montezuma, GA; 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews and a host of other family members also survive.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Jordan; son, James Jordan; 2 grandchildren, 3 brothers and a sister.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Cedar Valley Baptist Church in Montezuma.
