IDEAL, GA - Shelby Jean Ethridge Parker, 76, of Ideal, GA passed away at her home on Sunday, July 20, 2014.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, July 23, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Whitewater Baptist Church in Oglethorpe, GA. Graveside services will follow at Andersonville National Cemetery at 2 p.m. Rev. Chris Hall will officiate the services.
Serving as pallbearers are Jason Tarrer, Tony Tarrer, Larry Dorsey, Jimmy Windham,
Jim Tungate and Curtis Kelley.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are the Deacons of Whitewater Baptist Church.
Mrs. Parker was born December 20, 1937 in Oglethorpe, GA to the late Thomas Marvin Ethridge and Louella Allen Ethridge. She was a member of Whitewater Baptist Church. Mrs. Parker was employed in Accounting at Robins Air Force Base and worked for voter registration in Macon County, GA.
Mrs. Parker is survived by her husband, Ned Parker of Ideal, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Kim (Ricky) Rodgers of Ideal, GA; two grandchildren, Kristy (Bobby) Toms of Ellaville, GA and Rick (Natalie) Rodgers of Albany, GA; and one great-grandchild, Christian Toms of Ellaville, GA. She also leaves behind a brother, Wayne (Brenda) Ethridge of Oglethorpe, GA; and two sisters, Erylene Peaster of Montezuma, GA and Diana (Neal) Greene of Ideal, GA; a sister-in-law, Carolyn (Harold) Bell of Independence, MO; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Whitewater Baptist Church, 1955 State Route 128, Oglethorpe, GA 31068.
