MONTEZUMA, GA - Mrs. Sharon Middlebrooks Layfield, age 61, of Montezuma, GA passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Bertha Dozier Memorial Park Cemetery in Montezuma, Georgia.

Mrs. Layfield was born in Montezuma, Georgia on August 5, 1955 to the late Cecil Middlebrooks and Grace Fulcher Middlebrooks. Before her illness, Mrs. Layfield was employed as a CNA at Pinehill Nursing Center in Byromville, Georgia.

She is survived by one son; Shannon Layfield of Montezuma, Georgia, one daughter;Tammi Law (Kevin) of Montezuma, Georgia, one brother; Jacky Middlebrooks (Sheila) of Spartenburg, S.C and five grandchildren; Wayne Layfield, Cassie Barfield, J.B. Law, Chloee Law, Emilee Law and many nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by one, daughter;Amanda Layfield, one brother; Ricky Middlebrooks; and two sisters; Janet Middlebrooks and Diane Middlebrooks.
