OGLETHORPE, GA - Mrs. Sarah Head Trask, age 92, of Oglethorpe, GA, passed away at her home on Monday, March 9, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Mt. Zion- St. Luke Lutheran Church in Oglethorpe, GA with Rev. Earl R. Schafer officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will be private.

Mrs. Trask was born September 26, 1922 in Andersonville, GA, to the late Allen Jackson Head and Irene Murphy Head. Born in Macon County, GA, Mrs. Trask met her husband, John A. Trask, Sr., in Warner Robins at Robins Air Force Base. They traveled the world and lived overseas; and moved to Georgia in 1971. Mrs. Trask was the former Treasurer of Mt. Zion-St. Luke Lutheran church and served on the Oglethorpe City Council for twenty-six years. She was also an avid bridge player; achieving Life Master, and was a supporter of South Georgia Technical College. Mrs. Trask was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Trask, Sr.; her son, John A. Trask, Jr.; son-in-law, H. Keith Garrett; and two brothers: Allen Head, Jr. and Murphy Head.

Mrs. Trask is survived by her son, James R. (Patricia) Trask of Montezuma, GA; and her daughter, Catherine T. Garrett of Kathleen, GA; a daughter-in-law, Patty Trask of Carlsbad, CA; a sister, Helen Jean Grace of Oglethorpe, GA; a brother, Harmon Head of Fort Valley, GA; and a sister-in-law, Thera Head of Oglethorpe, GA. She also leaves behind four grandchildren: Whitney (John) Crisp of Americus, GA, Tracy (David) Monk of Tifton, GA, Emily (Scott) Trask-Velasquez of San Diego, CA, and Travis (Alyssa) Trask of Carlsbad, CA; and eleven great-grandchildren. During her final years, Mrs. Trask was lovingly cared for by: Thelma Williams, Elaine Woodard, and Charlotte Hortman.
