Byromville, GA - Mrs. Sarah Hill Page, age 90, of Byromville, GA passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Leisure Life Personal Care Home in Unadilla, GA.
A private graveside service, including immediate family members, was held on Thursday, Jan. 20 at Swearingen Cemetery with Rev. Eddie Braswell officiating.
A memorial service was held at 3 PM, Thursday, Jan. 20 in the Byromville United Methodist Church with Rev. Mary Ann Braswell officiating.
The family received friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
Sarah Hill Page was born on September 8, 1920 in Byromville, GA to the late Ernest Edgar Hill and Mary Smith Hill. She was retired from the Macon County Board of Education as a teacher and librarian. She was a devoted member of Byromville United Methodist Church.Her legacy is far-reaching over her 60 years at the church piano and organ, her 50 years leading Sunday School classes, her 34 years in education, and her 30 years of writing local news articles.The constant flow of music in her home set the tone for her family's love of the arts and appreciation for the simple ways that life can be enriched.
Survivors include her two daughters, Mary Jo (Groves) Jeter of Lilly, GA, Margaret (J.B.) Easterlin of Macon, GA; brother, John A. Hill of Elko, GA; five grandchildren and four great grandsons. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer Carson Page, to whom she was devoted.
