Sara was raised in Norfolk, Virginia along with her 11 siblings. She was baptized in her youth and remained a faithful praying member until her passing. On September 9, 1952, she married Alva E. Yoder and they greatly enjoyed 58 years together. During that time they moved to Montezuma, Georgia, raised a family of 12 children, and started a restaurant called Yoder Deitch Haus where she cooked lots of good food for many happy customers. She dearly loved her Jesus, her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren whom she prayed for daily and she was happiest when they all came home to spend time with her.Her sweet tea with lemon was a highlight for all.

This last year her health started declining and her memory was failing, yet she carried on bravely as long as she could serve her Lord and Savior until he called her home.
