OGLETHORPE, GA - Mrs. Sammie Anita Cox, age 98, of Oglethorpe, Georgia passed away March 17, 2020 at The Oaks Nursing Home in Marshallville, Georgia.
A private graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Reynolds, Georgia on March 18, 2020. She will lie in state at the funeral home for viewing until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday.
She was born in Reynolds, Georgia on February 19, 1922 to the late Samuel Bentley Harp and Anita Mathews Harp. Mrs. Sammie loved hunting, fishing and all outdoor activities and was a self-employed farmer.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her cousin Patty and David Rumph of Montezuma, Georgia; Desmond and Cheryl Harp of Reynolds, Georgia; Jay Harp of New York, N.Y., as well as many other cousins and her dear friend, Karen Riddle of Montezuma, Georgia.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ishmael Phillip Cox.
