Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 31, 2016 at Ideal Baptist Church in Ideal, GA with Rev. Randy Harris officiating . A private burial will be held at a later date.
The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour.
She was born on February 6, 1934 in Tift County, GA to the late Henry Meadows and Jessie Collins Meadows. She worked for many years with Bobs Cuts and Curls, and Styles by Pam Beauty Salon. She was a faithful member of Little Bethel Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary with the Chattahoochee Association of the Free Will Baptist Churches.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Tyson Ray and a daughter, Debbie Ray.
Survivors include her companion, John Jones of Oglethorpe, GA; half-sister, Mary Thomaston of Montezuma, GA; nieces and nephews, Lynn Mitchell, Toni Meadows, Phillip Meadows, Carol Laidler, Warren "Peanut" Mims and Lisa Jordan and many other nieces and nephews also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Little Bethel Baptist Church, P.O. Box 261, Ideal, GA 31041.
The family would like to thank John Jones, Adria Payne and Terry Hobbs for their special kindness to Mrs. Ruby Lee Ray.
