Roy E. Cromer, age 68, of Oglethorpe, GA passed away Thursday, December 18, 2008.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM., Saturday, Dec. 20. at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma.

The funeral will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, Dec. 21. at Still Water Chapel on Highway 240 West in Ideal, GA. Interment will follow in the Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Revs. Roy and Jennie Peterson and Rev. Johnny Cromer will officiate.

He was born on August 29, 1940 in Macon County, GA to the late Jesse Cromer and Fannie Mae Griggers Cromer. He was a self-employed truck driver, member of Still Water Chapel and enjoyed fishing in his spare time. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Cromer.

Survivors include his wife, Janis Cromer of Oglethorpe, GA; two daughters, Connie Raper of Oglethorpe, GA, Pam Dixon of Ellaville, GA; two sons, Leroy Hortman of Oglethorpe, GA, Steve Carpenter of Macon, GA; three sisters, Nell Taylor of Cairo, GA, Joann Bodrey of Cairo, GA, Helen Wilson of Perry, GA; one brother, John Cromer of Oglethorpe, GA; 13 grandchildren, Bradley Hortman, Kelly Check, Nick Hortman, Hailey Hortman, Scott Hortman, Tiffany Sutton, Lacey Hortman, Matthew Hortman, Clinton Hortman, Selena Jones, Jordan Carpenter, Hannah Carpenter and Joshua Carpenter and 5 great grandchildren.
