Roy Barker

Mr. Roy Landrace Barker, age 73, of Montezuma, Georgia passed away Monday, May 9, 2022, at Wellstar North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, Georgia.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 12:00 noon at Cedar Valley Baptist Church. Rev. Damon Fountain and Rev. Ricky Smarr will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Roy Barker was born in Montezuma, Georgia on October 30, 1948, to the late McArthur Barker and Lillie Lamberth Barker. Roy was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. Roy was a lifelong resident of Montezuma, Georgia, where he owned and operated Barker’s Market for many years. Roy was a member of Cedar Valley Baptist Church for many years and served on the Montezuma City Council for over 30 years. Roy enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his loving wife of 55 ½ years, Linda S. Barker of Montezuma, Georgia; son, Christopher M. Barker (Laurie) of Ellaville, Georgia; daughter, Teresa B. Guerrero (Jay) of Montezuma, GA; five grandchildren, Chasady, Lance, Christopher, Ansle, and Hudson; four great-grandchildren, Maddie, Lanee, Mason, Ashton, and Dylan.
