OGLETHORPE, GA - Mr. Rodney Alan Vissage, age 65, of Oglethorpe, Georgia passed away, Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia.
The family will receive friends from 7 PM to 9 PM, Monday, July 15, 2019 at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, Georgia.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Little Bethel Free Will Baptist Church in Ideal, Georgia. Rev. Randy Harris and Rev. Brad Jones will officiate the service.
Rodney Vissage was born on August 13, 1953 in Fort Valley, Georgia to the late Rex Edmun Vissage and Mattie Jo McEarchern Vissage who still survives. He graduated from the class of 1972 at Peach County High School. He began working for Tommy Coogle in 1989 at Reynolds IGA and later became Manager at Piggly Wiggly in Oglethorpe and Montezuma, Georgia. He was a member of Little Bethel Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife, Lisa Ross Vissage of Oglethorpe, Georgia; his mother, Mattie Jo McEarchern Vissage of Fort Valley, Georgia, four children, A.J. Vissage of Reynolds, Georgia, Mike Green (Summer) of Ideal, Georgia, Jordyn Albritton of Oglethorpe, Georgia and Jenna Albritton of Oglethorpe, Georgia; four sisters, Rebecca Davis (John) of Reynolds, Georgia, Diane Noble (Tony) of Fort Valley, Georgia, Debra Wells (Johnny) of Fort Valley, Georgia and Carol Davis (Mike) of Forest Park, Georgia; two grandchildren, Dawson Adams, Kennedy Green and many nieces and nephews also survive.
