Robert Eugene Lewis

The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM on Sunday, December 17th at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 18th at the Montezuma United Methodist Church. Dr. Tony Caldwell, Rev. Dennis Lanning and Rev. Mark Kinservik will be officiating the service.
The interment will follow in the Bertha Dozier Memorial Park Cemetery in Montezuma, GA.
Mr. Lewis was born on January 16, 1941 in Montezuma, GA to the late Robert Lewis and Georgia Lemmond Lewis Josey. He was also preceeded in death by his daughter, Sherry Jean Lewis Gaultney.
He graduated from Montezuma High School in 1959. He met Joyce Mayo in 1955 at a parade in Montezuma and dated for five years and got married on May 1, 1960 at Whitewater Baptist Church in Oglethorpe, GA. He sold insurance for many years. He was the former Manager of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home and former Postmaster for 31 years with the Montezuma Post Office. He was a member of the Montezuma United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife, Joyce Mayo Lewis of Montezuma, GA; son, Bobby Lewis of St. Augustine, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Janet Lewis of Acworth, GA; two grandchildren, Justin Gaultney and Megan Gaultney; three great grandchildren, Hailey Gaultney, Connor Gaultney and Cole Gaultney; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory to the Montezuma United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 159, Montezuma, GA 31063.
