Mr. Robert Clarence Collier, III, 73, of Montezuma, Georgia passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at Houston Healthcare in Perry, Georgia. Due to inclement weather, a private memorial service will be held inside at the Montezuma United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021. Rev. Jonathan Beckum, Rev. Chip Grantham, and Rev. Kevin Clotfelter will be officiating the service.Due to Covid-19, the use of face masks and social distancing is strongly encouraged.
Bob was born on February 5, 1947, in Augusta, Georgia.He graduated from Macon County High School in 1964, and Georgia Military College in 1966. He proudly served in the Georgia National Guard. After graduating from the University of Georgia in 1969, with a Bachelor's degree, he went to work for Murray-Weyand Sales in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was employed for 52 years as a Sales Representative and represented many institutional manufacturers for them.He married Susan Haynie Collier in 1973 and had two children.He moved back to Montezuma in 1974 and lived there for the rest of his life.
Bob was a member of the Montezuma United Methodist Church, Macon County Kiwanis Club, and numerous hunting organizations and clubs.
Survivors include his two children: Robert Brooks Collier (Amy West Collier) of Acworth, Georgia, and Emily Collier Herzog (Chris Herzog) of Lawrenceville, Georgia; a sister, Camille Brooks Guerry of Ashville, North Carolina; step-brother, Bobby Lytle (Madonna) of Huntsville, Alabama. Also, surviving are four grandchildren: Emma Louise Collier and Isabelle Lee Collier of Acworth, Georgia; Rylan Vance Driggers and Harper Chance Herzog of Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Clarence Collier, Jr. and Emily Brooks Collier.
