Mr. Richard “Rick” Hall, Sr., age 75, of Oglethorpe, Georgia went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, April 17, 2022. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, from 11:00 until noon, one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Rick and Miss Alice enjoyed working in their yard, creating their own personal Eden, complete with goldfish pond and hundreds of flowers. They also grew the most bountiful summer gardens and always shared their harvest with everyone. Mr. Rick loved woodworking and he built his own workshop where he loved to build, create and tinker. He was a dedicated family man and he adored his children, grandchildren, and great-grands. He worked at Blue Bird Wanderlodge in Fort Valley for 28 years and in his youth, he ran the “picture show” in Montezuma and worked at Champion Motor Homes in Ellaville.
Mr. Rick was born on August 11, 1946, in Montezuma, Georgia, the son of the late George Robert Hall, Sr., and Sarah Holley Hall Beard.
Survivors include his three children and their spouses; Virginia Schneider (Larry) of Bonaire, Georgia, Richard Hall, Jr. (Audra) of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Ami Godfrey (Brian) of Macon, Georgia. He is also survived by four sisters; Brenda Lamberth of Montezuma, Georgia, Linda Byers (Don) of Savannah, Georgia, Carol Teal of Oglethorpe, Georgia and Wendy Nelson (Randy) of Leesburg, Georgia; two grandchildren: Jessica Chastain (Jimmy) and Christopher Hall (Amy); six great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Chastain, Katie Chastain, David Chastain, Joanna Chastain, Addalynn Chastain, Maddie Chastain and a host of grandkitties and one grandpuppy along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his adoring wife of 55 years, Alice Lucille Clark Hall, two brothers, Robert Eugene Hall and George Robert Hall, Jr. and a great-grandchild, Brooklynn Hall.
