Mr. Reuben Ed Odom, Sr., age 75, of Ideal, Georgia passed away suddenly, Monday, January 10, 2022, at his residence.
Born on November 11, 1946, in Montezuma, Georgia to the late Reuben Odom and Ernestine Jewel Dorsey.
He was a member of Whitewater Baptist Church. He dearly loved his family and enjoyed farming and tending to his cows.He proudly served his country as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Army Reserve.He was employed with the Milledgeville Police Department from 1967until 1970 and served as Georgia State Trooper from 1970 until 2000 and retired as Post Commander at Post 34 Manchester.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, January 14, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Whitewater Baptist Church and Pastor Lance Bernard will officiate.The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral.Burial will follow at Kelly Cemetery in Oglethorpe, Georgia. The family can be reached at the home of Ed Odom, Jr., 1851 Reuben Odom Rd., Ideal, Georgia.
His memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife of 47 years, Myra Teele Odom of Ideal, Georgia and son, R. E. Odom, Jr., also of Ideal, Georgia, sister, Judy Chambers of Milledgeville, Georgia, two grandchildren: Claudia Ennis (Caleb) and Katharine Odom, one nephew, Ron Chambers and a host of other family and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, James Howard.
