Oglethorpe, GA - Mrs. Piedad Martinez, age 84, of Oglethorpe, GA passed away, Thursday, January 21, 2010 in Montezuma, GA.

A funeral mass was held at 5:00 PM, Sunday, Jan. 24, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Montezuma with Father Bob Cushing officiating. Burial followed in Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Martinez was born on January 5, 1926 in Sacramento, California to the late Jose Quezada and Guadalupe Gonzalez Quezada. She retired from Southern Frozen Foods in Montezuma and was a faithful member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law, Carmen and Walter Farr of Americus, GA, Alicia and Sonny Jenkins of Preston, GA; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Carlos and Theresa Martinez of Fayetteville, GA and Armando Martinez of Montezuma, GA; eight grandchildren, Chance O'Rear, Dylan Jenkins, Jennifer McCarthy, Dana Farr, Michelle Martinez, Dante Martinez, Francisco Martinez, Elisa Martinez, and three great grandchildren, Sarah Martinez, Allie McCarthy and Lilah Steinburgg.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Isidro Martinez and a great grandchild, Konnor Farr.

Memorial contributions may be made St. Michael's Catholic Church, 714 North Dooly Street, Montezuma, GA 31063.
