Ms. Patricia Fay Ludlam, age 82, of Oglethorpe, Georgia. passed away on Tuesday, March 28 th , 2023 at her residence.
A funeral service will be held, 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Stillwater Chapel in Ideal, Georgia. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday at the church. Rev. Roy Peterson will be officiating the service.
She was born on December 1 st , 1940 in Sylacauga, Alabama. She was a member of Stillwater Chapel in Ideal, Georgia and played the piano on Sundays. She also attended Oglethorpe Seventh-day Adventist Church on Saturdays. She was a caregiver at a nursing home for most of her life. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History from Furman University in Columbia, SC in 1966, She also studied Introduction to Exceptional Children at Mercer University in 1980 and went back in 1984 to study Educational Psychology. She was also a Graduate of Georgia Southern University in 1984 for Social Foundations of Educations. In her long life, she loved her family, art, music and God. She was blessed to live in Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alaska, Tennessee and Georgia.
She is preceded in death by her oldest child, Evelyn Joy Ludlam along with her sister Mary Fitzherbert.
She is survived by her five children, Joseph Henry Ludlam Jr. of Jarrett, Virginia, Virgil Paul Ludlam of Georgia, Eugene Thomas Ludlam (Angelique) of Oglethorpe, Georgia, John Patrick Ludlam of New Ellenton, South Carolina, and Sadie IDelle Morse of Knoxville, Tennessee along with her five siblings, Marie Barnes of Venice, Florida, Rebecca Reed of Tampa, Florida, Krystal Barnes of St. Petersburg, Florida, Taffy Hudnall of Evington, Virginia, and Randy Gilbert of Cherry Hill, New Jersey. She was also the loving Mimi to nine grandchildren. Kimberly Danielle Osbern, Joy Mae Preston, Virgil Paul Ludlam, Jr, Marie Ashley Ludlam, Oz Shallot Morse, Ella Champagne Morse, Maddux Olive Morse, AnissinA Michelle Ludlam and Enman Thomas Ludlam and two great grandchildren, Liana Mae Preston and Jayden Alton Preston.
