Cobb, GA - Mr. Orrien Thompson, age 80 of 122 Waterfront Drive, Cobb, GA passed away Tuesday evening, July 20, 2010.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday (July 22, 2010) at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Friday (July 23, 2010) at Cedar Valley Baptist Church in Montezuma with Rev. Michael Truitt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He was born on November 11, 1929 in Pinehurst, GA to the late Ida Mae Jones Thompson and Marcus Thompson. He worked for Fort Benning and Warner Robins Air Force Base in the Engineering Department. He also worked a South Georgia Technical College as a security guard. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a faithful member of Cedar Valley Baptist Church and loved his family dearly. He loved to ride on his golf cart and sit on the front porch in the rocking chair. He had a drive and passion for life.

He was preceded in death by one son, two sisters and five brothers.
