OGLETHORPE, GA - Myrtle E. Woolums, 86, of Oglethorpe, GA went home to be with her Lord on Friday morning, May 31, 2013 at home.
Family will receive friends from 7 PM until 9 PM on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma. At other times, the family will be at Bonnie's home at 114 Joyce Street in Oglethorpe, GA.
Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma on Monday, June 3, 2013 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Mickie Sykes, pastor of First Church of God of Columbus, GA officiating the service.
Graveside services will follow at 12:00 PM at Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville, GA.
Miss. Myrtle was born on July 1, 1926 in Starke, FL to the late Joseph Benjamin Johns and Leila Ethel Harris Johns. She was a homemaker and a member of First Church of God of Columbus. In her spare time she loved eating out, shopping, traveling, dancing and being with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Hughes Woolums and their infant daughter, Virginia (Ginny) L. Woolums.
She leaves behind her 5 children, Charles Woolums and his wife Betty of Cleveland, GA, Wanda Woolums of West Palm Beach, FL, Charlotte Hall and her husband George Robert Hall of Montezuma, GA, Bonnie Woolums of Oglethorpe, GA and Mike Woolums and his wife Ida of Oglethorpe, GA; 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and host of other family and friends also survive.
