Mrs. Myrtle Spradley, 87, of Montezuma, GA passed away Friday, September 3, 2021, at The Oaks Nursing and Personal Care Home in Marshallville, GA.
A graveside service will be held at 3 PM, Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at New Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Eastman, GA. Rev. Phil West will officiate.
Mrs. Spradley will lie in state on Sunday, September 5th from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. to go in procession to the cemetery.
The family will receive friends to have lunch from 10:30 am to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7th at the residence of Mitchell Spradley, 712 College Street, Montezuma, GA 31063.
She was born on June 8, 1934 in Eastman, GA to the late Milton D. Coleman and Winnie Stevens Coleman. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed reading her bible. Mrs. Myrtle enjoyed cooking and was known for her chocolate pudding. She was an artist and enjoyed spending time in her garden. She loved babysitting and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her loving children, Jimmy L. Spradley, Jr. of Montezuma, GA, Mitchell Spradley (Taylor) of Montezuma, GA and Dianne Smith (Bobby) of Warner Robins, GA; seven grandchildren, David Spradley, Jacob Spradley, Leah Spradley, Lily Elizabeth Spradley (Rob), Claudia Spradley, Stephen Simmons (Heather) and Blake Simmons; two great-grandchildren, Logan and Landon Simmons; one sister, Carolyn Settles (Richard) of Hazelhurst, GA, two sisters-in-law, Mary Coleman of Hazelhurst, GA and Jeanette Beard of Montezuma, GA; several nieces and nephews also survive.
