MONTEZUMA, GA - Myrtle Fountain Riddle, age 85 of Montezuma, GA, passed away Monday, February 7, 2011 at The Oaks Nursing and Personal Care Home in Marshallville, GA.
Graveside funeral services were held at 3 PM, Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011 at Bertha Dozier Memorial Park Cemetery in Montezuma with Dr. Randy Gregg and Rev. Billy Kimbrel officiating.
The family received friends from 6 PM - 7:30 PM, Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011 at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma.
Myrtle was born on July 19, 1925 in Dooly County, GA to the late Horace Fountain and Mattie Belle Pickard Fountain. She was a registered nurse and worked at Middle Georgia Hospital in Macon, Riverside Hospital and Macon County Clinic in Montezuma and with several local doctors. Her last employment was with Heart of Georgia Hospice. She was a member of Montezuma United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her three daughters, Brenda (Jim) Lever of Tifton, GA, Ruth (Chris) Thompson of McKinney, TX, Bonnie (Jule) Windham of Montezuma, GA; two sisters, Evy Hall of Macon, GA, Katie (Homer) Ansley of Meigs, GA;a brother, Bun Fountain of Byromville, GA; 7 grandchildren, Lance (Amy) Lever, Lori Lever (David) Monk, Michelle Burns, Lee Ann Carter, Jared (Cassie) Thompson, Ashton Windham, Spencer Windham and 8 great grandchildren, Lauren Lever, Aaron Lever, Hembree Monk, Lizzie Monk, J.D. Monk, Anthony Burns, Adam Cousins, Nerriah Thompson;many nieces and nephews also survive.
