MONTEZUMA, GA - Mr. Murphy Head, age 77, a resident of Montezuma Health and Rehabilitation Center passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Flint River Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 at Oglethorpe Baptist Church with Rev. Chet Ragsdale officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Head was born April 2, 1936 in Oglethorpe, Ga to the late Allen Head, Sr. and Bernice Irene Murphy. He served in the Army Reserves and operated Head's Used Cars.

Mr. Head's survivors include his wife, Betty Head, of Vienna, Ga; his children, Abbey (Dan) Miller of Johnson City, Tn, Gigi (Jeff) Patterson of Montezuma, Ga, Murphy (Laurie) Head Jr., of Duluth, Ga, and Paul Head of Vienna, Ga. He also leaves behind a brother, Harmon Head of Oglethorpe, Ga; and two sisters, Helen Jean Grace of Oglethorpe, Ga and Sarah Trask of Oglethorpe, Ga; ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
