Master Sgt. Jay Dean Miller, U.S. Army Reserve (Ret.), age 85, of Marshallville, Georgia, passed away Friday, September 23, 2022. Visitation will be held Sunday 25, 2022, from 1:00PM to 2:00PM, with funeral services at 2:00PM, at First Baptist Church Marshallville, Georgia. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 2:30PM, at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia with full military honors. Dean was born March 5, 1937 in Johnson City, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Barnie Frank Miller and Bertha Laughters Miller. Survivors include his loving wife Peggy Ennis Miller; son Jay Dean Miller II and wife Wendy; 2 grandsons Jeffery Dean Miller and Jacob Lee Miller; 2 sisters Gail Miller Banister husband Graham, and Joan Miller; 3 Stepchildren, Gail and husband Mike Parenti, Sandy and husband Chris Wilcox and James M. Leverett and wife Lorene; also surviving are 9 step grandchildren, 12 step great grandchildren and 3 step great great grandchildren. Mr. Jay Dean Miller, graduated Jonesboro High School in 1955 and attended East Tennessee State University for one year. Dean served several terms as Deacon at First Baptist Church Marshallville, and served in the choir and Campers on Mission. Dean served from 1956 to 1959 in the United States Airforce. Dean Retired as a Master Sargent in the Army Reserve for 20 years and 10 years as a Leadership Instructor. Dean retired after 24 years as electronics mechanic at Warner Robins Air Force Base. Dean was a past Master of Reynolds Masonic Lodge 695, and current member of Houston Lodge 35 of Perry Georgia and F&AM. Dean was a Member of Masonic Organization Sojourners, and served several years as state director of Masonic Travel Club. Dean was an avid RV’er for over 20 years with Peggy, in 49 states, and many Canadian provinces. Dean was current member of Family Motor Coach Association and Dean sung with the musical group Frustrated Maestros. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Michael J.
