Morris Eugene Stafford, age 77, of Sugar Hill, GA, formerly of Oglethorpe, passed away Saturday evening, Sept. 13, 2008 at Embracing Hospice in Cumming.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 15. at 2 PM, at the Oglethorpe Baptist Church with Rev. Don Meade and Rev. Myke Harbuck officiating.
Burial followed in the Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens Cemetery with full military honors.
He was born on March 27, 1931 in Macon County, GA to the late Gene Arthur Stafford and Wynell English Stafford. He served his country in the Georgia Army National Guard for 42 years, retiring as command sergeant major. He worked at Robins Air Force Base for over 30 years. He was a member and deacon at Oglethorpe Baptist Church and he was a Mason. He is preceded in death by his son, Glenn Morris Stafford.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Dave Hopson of Cumming; son and daughter-in-law, Shane and Tammy Stafford of Sugar Hill; sister, Shirley Martin of Oglethorpe; five grandchildren, Nikki Stafford, Kevin Stafford, Tara Coker, Karston Hopson, Cole Hopson and a great granddaughter, Adrianna Coker.
