Mickey Lee Head

Mickey Lee Head, age 66, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, in the arms of his best friend and life partner of 46 years at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

Born in Cuthbert, Georgia on April 5, 1956, to the late Harmon William Head, Sr. and Joyce Lee Wood Head. He was predeceased by his two nephews, William ("Will") James Brown and Cory Allen Head, and his sister-in-law, Jean Head.

Survivors include his loving wife, Alicia Pope Head; his two sons, Jason Lee Head and William Bradley Head; brother, Harmon W. Head, Jr., sister, Sara ("Chuck") Head Clark and sister-in-law, Glenda Pope Heckert (John).

Mickey was a 1974 graduate of Macon County High School and attended the University of Georgia and Georgia Southwestern College. He was employed with Mid-Georgia Industrial Sales, Inc. in Macon, Georgia as an Outside Sales Representative for 23 faithful years of service where he cultivated lifetime friendships with not only his co-workers but with his customers whom he loved. Prior to his employment with Mid-Georgia, he was the Purchasing Agent for Southern Frozen Foods in Montezuma, Georgia where he loved and considered all his co-workers "one big family".

"Mic-Mic" as his family affectionally called him had a heart of gold and enjoyed life's simple pleasures. His favorite pastime was sitting in his rocking chair on "his" back porch, watching his old westerns, the Atlanta Braves or the Georgia Bulldogs as the sun set on 449. His most treasured role in life was being around and taking care of family whom he loved deeply and fiercely.

A memorial service honoring Mickey's life will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, Georgia. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
