OGLETHORPE, GA - Melody Ann Turner, age 55, of Oglethorpe, Georgia passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at her residence.

A private memorial service will be held for Mrs. Melody at a later date.

She was born July 13, 1962 in Montezuma, Georgia to the late Leonard Avery and Barbara Varnum Avery.

Survivors include her two daughters: Brandi Benford (Jeremy) of Ellaville, Georgia and Shauna Layfield (Scotty) of Oglethorpe, Georgia; two brothers: Mike Avery (Donna) of Oglethorpe, Georgia and Tommy Avery (Cynthia) of Oglethorpe, Georgia and one sister, Cathy Cromer (Thomas) of Leesburg, Georgia.Also surviving are five grandchildren: Courtney Easom ( Chance), Cody Layfield (Lexie), Dylan Layfield (Ambry), Savannah Benford, and Garrett Benford, one great-grandchild, Bentley Easom any many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Barbara Avery and two great-grandchildren; Sirinity and Trinity Easom.

The family has requested that any flowers be sent to the daughter's home, Shauna Layfield, 990 GA Hwy 128,Oglethorpe, Georgia 31068.
