SPRING, TX - Mary Elizabeth Hickman Griggers, 72, of Spring, TX, formerly of Montezuma, GA, lost her battle with Alzheimer's on Saturday, January 4, 2014 with her family by her side.
Visitation is scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, January 10, 2014 at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Montezuma. The Rev. LaMon Brown will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Bertha Dozier Memorial Park.
Mrs. Griggers was born December 3, 1941 in Wadesboro, NC to the late George Hickman and Elsie Harmon Hickman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert Hickman and George "Juney" Hickman; her son, Steven Griggers; and her daughter-in-law, Marcy Tarrer Massey.
Mrs. Griggers is survived by her devoted husband, Douglas "Buddy" Griggers of Spring, TX; her son, Eriek Griggers and his wife Jacci, of Spring, TX; five grandchildren, Victoria, Toben, & Catherynn Griggers, Cassie and Mallory Massey; and one great-grandchild, Colton Bustos. She also leaves behind a god-daughter, Lisa Crowe Smith; two nephews, Jim Hickman and Larry Hickman; and a niece, Judy Hodge.
