Martha Avera

November 30, 1922 — February 4, 2010

Martha E. Avera, age 87, of Upatoi, GA passed away Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Columbus Hospice.

Funeral services were held at 11 AM, Monday, Feb. 8, at Andersonville National Cemetery with Rev. David Helms officiating.

Martha was born on November 30, 1922 in Butler, GA to the late Clarence Sanders and Nettie Harris Sanders. She was a bookkeeper with Bank of Oglethorpe and Taylor County Board of Commissioners. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church in Ellerslie, GA. She enjoyed working in her yard and traveling with the Air Stream Club.

Survivors include her husband, Binion E. Avera of Upatoi, GA and son, David Avera. She was preceded in death by a son, Otis Earl "Buddy" Avera.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a church of your choice.
