Marion Oliver

February 20, 1933 — December 17, 2009

Mr. Marion L. Oliver, age 76 of 965 Horseshoe Bend Rd. Montezuma, GA passed away Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the Oglethorpe Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Don Short and Chaplain Will Abercrombie officiating. Interment of his ashes will follow in the church cemetery.

Marion was born on February 20, 1933 in Effingham County, SC to the late John Lawrence Oliver and Beatrice Jolly Oliver. He was retired from Civil Service. He was a mechanic and former owner of Oliver Auto Sales, which he operated until his retirement in 2000.

Survivors include his two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy (Frank) Dixon of Montezuma, GA, Tammy (Joe) Arner of Downers Grove, IL; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tim (Denise) Oliver of Candler, NC, Thomas (Jenna) Oliver of St. Petersburg, FL; two brothers, Ivey Oliver of Darlington, SC, Pete Oliver of Hartsville, SC; sister, Dallene Vinson of Charleston, SC; six grandchildren, one grand-dog, Nixon and five great grandchildren; He is also survived by his former spouse, Marilyn Branson Miller of Apison, TN.
