A funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, September 5, 2015 in the Chapel of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma with Rev. Michael Truitt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Bertha Dozier Memorial Park in Montezuma.
Mrs. Beard was born May 11, 1922 in Esto, Florida to the late Archie Levie Plunkett and Sarah Daisy White Plunkett. She was a homemaker and preceded in death by 8 brothers and 2 sisters.
Survivors include her loving husband, Clifford Eugene Beard of Montezuma, GA; five children, Frazier (Barbara) Phillips of Warner Robins, GA, Carl Junior (Connie) Ward of Panama City, FL, Johnny Ray (Sylvia) Ward of Warner Robins, GA, Kenneth Earl (Yvonne) Phillips of Milledgeville, GA and Wanda Carol Phillips (Al) Olive of Louisville, GA; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 27 great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other family members also survive.
Flowers will be accepted.
