OGLETHORPE, GA - Mr. Lonnie Bridgwell Oliver, 80, of Oglethorpe, Georgia passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019.
He was born in Tattnall County on July 7, 1938 to the late Barney Oliver and Fannie Lou Oliver Perkins.With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Airforce. Since 1963, he owned and operated Macon County Radio and T.V. in Oglethorpe, Georgia. He was a deacon of Whitewater Baptist Church and also served as Boy Scout Master for Troup 86 for many years.
Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Whitewater Baptist Church and Rev. Chris Hall will officiate. Burial will follow at Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens.Family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
Survivors include his loving wife, Linda Charlene Garrison Oliver of Oglethorpe, Georgia; one son, John T. Oliver (Mary L.) of San Antonio, Texas; three siblings: Carroll Oliver (Mary), of Moody, Texas,J. C. Oliver of Collins, Georgia and Shirlene Smith of Bellville, Georgia; two granddaughters: Jessica Oliver (Kersey) of Adrian, Georgia, Katherine Elizabeth Oliver of Thomaston, Georgia; one step-grandson, Brian Williams of San Antonio, Texas and three great-grandchildren, Daniel Williams of San Antonio, Texas, Haley Kersey and Sophia Kersey of Adrian, Georgia. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members also survive.Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Oliver, his step-dad, Kenneth "Hop" Perkins and a son, Carl Lee Oliver.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be sent to Whitewater Baptist Church, 1955 State Route 128, Oglethorpe, Georgia 31068.
