Lois Ruth Layfield Williams

Lois Ruth Layfield Williams, age 87, of Oglethorpe, Georgia, passed away on February 12, 2025.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 at 2 pm at Little Bethel Freewill Baptist Church in Ideal, Georgia. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service. Rev. Randy Harris will be officiating the service.

Lois was born on March 9, 1937 to the late William Oliver Collier and Ellie Howell Collier. She was a member of Little Bethel Freewill Baptist Church.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her three children, David (Mary) Layfield, William (Jane) Layfield, and Gregory (Paula) Layfield; one daughter-in-law, Tina Layfield; six grandchildren, Stephanie (Richard) Welling, Matthew (Tess) Layfield, William (Nicole) Layfield, Bradley (Janelle) Layfield, Addison (Caitlin) Layfield, and Garrett Layfield; as well as eleven great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Welling, and Brooks Welling, Elias Layfield, Ivy Jane Layfield, Nora Layfield, Charlotte Layfield, Winifred Layfield, Grayson Layfield, Aubrey Layfield, Mercer Layfield, and Sutton Layfield.

She is preceded in death by her late husband, Eugene Layfield and her late husband, W.T. Williams as well as her two sisters, Idaline Dowling, and Marriane Caruso; one brother, Ricky Collier; and two sons, Mark Layfield, and Andrew Layfield.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, Georgia.
