Mrs. Lodys Louise Hinton Emminger Brant, age 97, of Oglethorpe, Georgia passed away Friday, September 16, 2022 at her residence. She was formerly of Beaufort, South Carolina where she resided for over 50 years. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with funeral services at 2:00 PM, at Whitewater Baptist Church in Oglethorpe, Georgia. Chaplain David Miller with Heart of Georgia Hospice will be officiating the service. Burial will follow in Pine Level Cemetery in Oglethorpe, Georgia. Mrs. Brant was born in Macon County, GA to the late Andrew Jackson Hinton and Ida Cora Dunmon Hinton. Mrs. Brant was preceded in death by her husband, Hughes Henry Brant; 4 brothers, Mac Hinton, Clarence Hinton, Wiley Gene Jones and Andrew Jack Hinton. 2 sisters, Ruby Gerritsen and Emily Zink. 2 stepchildren, Pat Telander and Butch Brant, 2 grandsons, John Douglas Copeland and Scott Telander. Mrs. Brant and her husband were the founding members of Shellpoint Baptist Church in Beaufort, South Carolina. Mrs. Brant owned and operated Quick Service Upholstery in Montezuma, GA, Perry, Georgia and Beaufort, South Carolina. Mrs. Brant is survived by 2 sons. Ronald Lee Emminger and his wife Margaret of Oglethorpe, Georgia and G. Frank Emminger, Jr. and his wife Krista of Seabrook, South Carolina; 5 daughters, Peggy E. Harbuck and her husband Raymond of Metter, Georgia, Carolyn McCullough and her husband Lee of Beaufort, South Carolina, Brenda Faraci and her husband Angelo of Wytheville, Virginia, Sandra Emminger Lee and her husband of Ricky Brooklet, Georgia and Rose Mazon Emminger Lee and her husband Ronnie of Statesboro, Georgia; 2 step daughters, Kathy Myers and her husband Denny of Richland, Washington and Elizabeth Shook of Nashville, Tennessee. 56 grandchildren, 115 great grandchildren, 56 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers will be accepted.
