Linda Hobbs Simmons

IDEAL, GEORGIA - Mrs. Linda Hobbs Simmons, age 84, of Ideal, Georgia passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

A visitation will be on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, Georgia, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

A funeral service celebrating Mrs. Linda’s life will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Whitewater Baptist Church in Oglethorpe, Georgia. Rev. Chris Hall and Rev. Lance Bernard will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Garden Valley, Georgia.

Mrs. Linda was born on September 20, 1939 in Reynolds, Georgia to the late Grover C. Hobbs, Jr. and Lillian Inez Grant Hobbs. She was also preceded in death by four siblings, Patricia Hobbs Hortman, Marjorie English, Grover Hobbs III and Terry Hobbs.

She was a homemaker and member of Lebanon Baptist Church in Butler, Georgia.

Survivors include her loving husband, Gene Simmons of Ideal, Georgia; three children, Allison Simmons Green of Andersonville, Georgia, William Todd Simmons and wife Robyn of Ideal, Georgia and Dana Simmons Harris and husband Chris of Dahlonega, Georgia; seven siblings, Shirley Jones of Greeneville, South Carolina, Larry Hobbs of Dacula, Georgia, Bobby Hobbs of Andersonville, Georgia, Louie Hobbs of Reynolds, Georgia, Susan Tungate and husband Jim of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Joyce Smith of Reynolds, Georgia and Cheryl Dorsey and husband Larry of Oglethorpe, Georgia; Six grandchildren, Tyler Simmons and wife Niki, Nick Simmons and wife Angel, Kaitlin Simmons, Tucker Harris, Jansen Harris and James Smith. Six great grandchildren, Jax Simmons, Lively Ruth Simmons, Raven Simmons, Belle Simmons, Braylon Barrett & Knox Barrett. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
