Leon Thompson

A native of Macon County, Georgia, Mr. Leon was born April 4, 1932 to the late Herschel and Odesa Thompson.He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for the Macon County Road Department and for Mulcoa in Andersonville for many years. He was a member of New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church in Ellaville, Georgia.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home. Reverend Randy Langford will officiate. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., an hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Grimsley Thompson of Americus, Georgia; step-daughter, Joane Hancock and husband, Steve of Sylacauga, Alabama and one brother, Eugene Thompson and wife Inez of Vienna, Georgia.Also surviving are three step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Donna Garren.
Flowers will be accepted.
