Lennard Day

Mr. Lennard Day, age 84, of Ideal, GA passed away, Monday, January 23, 2023 at his home.

A memorial service will be held for Mr. Lennard Day on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Peterson officiating the service.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.

He was born on December 8, 1938 in Wilkerson County, GA to the late George Day and Mamie Davison Day. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Bartlett Day and his ten siblings, Leila West, J.D. Day, David Day, Ophelia McCluney, Mary Mixon, Horace Day, Susie Mae Day, Junior Day, Brenda Kay Law and his twin brother, Dennard Day.

He retired as a maintenance worker at Montezuma Health and Rehabilitation Center and was a veteran of the United States Army Reserve. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and dancing with his wife, Lillian Day.

Survivors include his two children, Earl W. Gentry and wife Laura of Markleville, Indiana and Julie Day (Nigel) of Oglethorpe, GA; six grandchildren, Casey Day, Jessica Gentry, Jeremy Gentry, Tonia Baxter, Jamie Frederick, Hanna Law and several great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stillwater Chapel, 3550 Highway 240 West, Ideal, GA 31041.
