Oglethorpe, GA - Mr. Lawrence Adrian Collier, Sr., age 85, of Oglethorpe, GA, passed away Saturday morning, February 11, 2012.
Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 12, from 6 to 8 PM at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 13, at 4 PM in the Chapel of Watson-Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Jay Tucker officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Collier was born on August 12, 1926 in Montezuma, GA to the late Walter B. Collier and Abigail Lamberth Collier. He was a World War II Veteran who served in the United States Army as a sniper during the Pacific Theatre and he owned and operated Montezuma Motor Company for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Worthington Collier and sister, Mary Ann Collier Power.
Survivors include his son, L.A. "Larry" Collier, Jr., and his wife Cheryl of Warner Robins, GA; brother, Walter Larue Collier and his wife Virginia of Warner Robins, GA; grandson, L. Adrian Collier III and his wife Randi of Perry, GA; great grandson, L.A. "Ren" Collier IV; five nieces, Leanne Rountree and husband Todd, Jessica Swain, Lisa Carlson and husband Jim, Leslie Williams and Leanne Yerk and husband Ken; and a number of great nieces and nephews.
