LAKE CITY, FL - Larry Randolph Holley, Sr., age 71, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at his home in Lake City, FL. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, February 2, 2015 at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, GA. A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. in the Marshallville City Cemetery with Rev. Randy Davis officiating.
Mr. Holley was born February 19, 1943 to the late Hardy Hunter Holley and Leila McLain Holley. Better known as "The Moss Man," he was self-employed in the pest control business and was awarded a patent for his 34DD Herbicide Mower. Mr. Holley was a member of Christ Central Ministries in Lake City, FL. He was preceded in death by his step-son, David Weaver.
Mr. Holley is survived by his wife, Carolyn Holley of Lake City, FL; two children: Penney Holley of Lake City, FL and Larry "Buster" Holley and his wife Tammy of Roberta, GA. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Hunter Gillikin, III and Chelsea Holley of Lake City, FL, Tiffany Holley of Perry, GA, Josh Holley of Byron, GA, Kaleigh (Frank) Ruf of Lake City, FL, Cody Weaver of Gainesville, FL, Brittney Weaver of Lake City, FL, and Grace Weaver of Sequin, TX; and five great-grandchildren: Semaj Hubbard, Tyana Johnson, Jakob Ruf, Niklaus Ruf, and Aubree Weaver. In addition, he is also survived by his sister, Daisy (Ross) Poole of Marshallville, GA and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
