Mr. Lamar "Jack" Bodrey, age 76, of Oglethorpe, GA passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Houston Healthcare in Warner Robins, GA.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 25, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, GA.
A Graveside Service will be Friday, May 26, 2023, at Odom Family Cemetery on Highway 128 North in Oglethorpe, GA. Pastor Scotty Jones officiated the service.
Friends and family are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Friday no later than 10:30 AM to go in procession to the cemetery.
Mr. Jack was born on July 17th, 1946, in Oglethorpe, Georgia, to the late James Henry and Ida Dee James. He is preceded in death by his parents, and by his daughter, Tawyna Bodrey.
Mr. Jack served as a police officer for 55 years at Taylor County Sherriff’s Department, Macon County Sheriff’s Department, and Oglethorpe Police Department.
He is survived by his three children, Israel Lamar Bodrey (Tracy) of Butler, Georgia, Stacy Ann Allen (Vince) of Butler, Georgia, and Stephanie Lindsey (Jamie) of Marshallville, Georgia, nine grandchildren, Adam Hudgins of Alabama, Kyle Allen of Jackson, Georgia, Dakota Allen of Butler, Georgia, Addison Allen of Butler Georgia, Braileigh Allen of Butler, Georgia, Jaxon Allen of Butler, Georgia, Jacob Short of Oglethorpe, Georgia, Hunter Lindsey of Butler, Georgia, and Logan Turner of Marshallville, Georgia. He also has seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
