Katherine Yoder

January 20, 1918 — December 27, 2009

Katherine A. Yoder, age 91, of Montezuma, GA passed away Sunday, December 27, 2009 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, Dec. 30, at the Montezuma Mennonite Church with burial following the church cemetery. Pastors Donny Swartzentruber, Irvin Yoder and Eli Kauffman will officiate.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 29, from 6PM to 8PM at the Montezuma Mennonite Fellowship Hall.

Mrs. Yoder was born on January 20, 1918 in Burton, Ohio to the late Harvey D. Byler and Fannie Hershberger Byler. She moved to Montezuma 53 years ago, coming from Virginia Beach, VA.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin L. Yoder, former owner of Myrtle Creek Farm; three sons, Raymond Yoder, Allen Yoder, Melvin Lloyd Yoder and one great grandchild, Durrel Lavon Yoder.

Survivors include two sons and their spouses, Olen and Lena Yoder of Minerva, OH, Harley and Lisa Yoder of Montezuma, GA; daughter-in-law, Emma Yoder of Montezuma; three daughters and their spouses, Verma and Freeman Wingard, Linda and Larry Kauffman, Fannie Carol Yoder and Paul Yoder all Montezuma, GA; one brother, Clarence H. Byler of Virginia Beach, VA; one sister, Verna Yoder of Abbeville, SC; 34 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
